About MTG and Its Founders
Manufacturing Technology Group, Inc (MTG), started out in an 8,000 square foot leased facility that was founded in 1996 by two manufacturing engineers previously employed by the Digital Equipment Corporation, which was the largest manufacturer of mini-computers in the world. John (Jack) Adam, former Engineering Manager for Digital, and Richard (Dick) Carver, former Principal Engineer, opened their first facility in Westfield, Massachusetts, that later upgraded to a 40,000 sq. ft. leased facility, then all the way to the 67,000 sq. ft. building that we produce everything at to this day. Opening their business in Westfield, was a way to take advantage of the skilled workforce that became available with the closing of Digital in 1998. With the vast knowledge and experience Jack and Dick had gained at DEC, it was easy to assist customers in developing products that were cost and quality effective and met their customers’ needs.
As of 2024, MTG still supports some of the original businesses for the past 28 years. We have received many accolades over the years for the quality and assistance provided to our customers in helping them meet their goals. MTG originally offered cutting and bending, but eventually expanded to support all aspects of manufacturing. With our engineers today, we have over 200 years added up of experience in engineering and the manufacturing industry.
As a job shop, we produce a large variety of small production runs from simple shapes, to complex welded assemblies, made to order from customer prints. Since we have been in business, MTG has become a major contributor to several large companies’ efforts to improve quality and reduce product cost. We utilize ABC costing methods to ensure proper pricing of products. Not only do we have the equipment, but we have the people and experience that you are looking for, offering quality parts at excellent prices.
